PARENTING MANTRAS THAT COMES HANDY WITH PARENTING
Parenting to me is not only bringing a new life in this world but also supporting the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of a child from infancy to adulthood..
Parenting is not easy, it comes with experience over a number of years. It comes with responsibility, stress, emotions, and anxiety.
I used to watch my mummy and papa. I am the youngest kid in the family so naturally most pampered one also. I used to take each day so easy. I was not aware of the outside world. I used to come to the home and find my mom at home with a pleasing smile and a warm hug.
In our times, there was plenty of time for us. I also used to go to school, tuition and in the park with my friends in the evening. But I knew that if I miss out my homework, I will have a bad day at school. We as kids used to have fear..yes fear of not doing homework, fear of parents, teachers.
But Today Parenting comes with MANTRA…YES PARENTING MANTRA #MOMOLOGY
Every problem can be resolved with simple communication. It is very important to talk over the issue with the child
2. STAY COOL:
Take a deep breathe when you see your kid messing up with food or kitchen utensils, spilling up a bowl of cerelac, maintain your cool. I may be sounding to you weird but its very important to stay calm in a situation. You can’t scream at a toddler. He would not understand instead try to copy you.
3. BE STRICT WHEN REQUIRED:
Yes strictness is required when things go out of your control. But it is required to set certain timelines before the situation turns to worse like playtime, study time.
4. SWAPPING THE PLACE :
This mantra always works for me. One of the incident I want to share with you all. I was fed up of my kid eating chocolates. I tell her not to have too many chocolates. Its bad for teeth. She never used to listen to me but on Diwali, after eating chocolates and sweets, she had a severe toothache. Then she said mumma.. please do not bring chocolates home and tell bua, masi, dadu also not to bring chocolates. Otherwise, I will not be able to resist myself. I want to help you and myself. Love u mom. That brought tears in my eyes and made me realised that it is not always kids fault. We give them easy access to things, it could be chocolates, gadgets or anything which we do not want them to use.
5. LOVE AND HUGS:
Love has no language but it works wonderfully. Imagine a long tiring day and you come home and you get a tight hug from your kid. That’s the best therapy for me and my kid and biggest stress reliever.
6. NO NEED TO COMPARE:
Comparing your child with the sibling or any other kid is too bad. That not only creates a sense of insecurity but also makes him or her lose his self-confidence.
Accept your kids as they are. No child is the same. All have positive and negative points.
8. GOOD VALUES:
I tell my kid to thank god every day for a beautiful life he has given, respect parents, TEACHERS, and grandparents. What you give is what you give.
These were my parenting mantras. what do you think about the same and how do you tackle it. Do share your views with me.
